How the in-person pickup works.
A step-by-step guide for buyers and sellers — secure escrow, identity check, and code confirmation so the handover is safe for everyone.
You chose in-person pickup — one of the safest ways to buy, because you hold and inspect the watch before any money moves. Here is how the handover works, step by step.
The most important points
- Your money is held safely by Bestwrist until handover — the seller only receives it once you confirm your pickup code.
- The pickup code is your "key". Treat it like cash and enter it only when the watch is in your hands and inspected.
- If the handover does not take place within 7 days, we will automatically refund the purchase price.
For buyers: step by step
1. Complete the payment
Once you complete the purchase, we hold your payment safely in our escrow system. The seller cannot see or withdraw the money at this stage.
2. Agree on a meeting
Use the Bestwrist chat to arrange the time and a safe location with the seller. We recommend public, well-lit places — a dealer's storefront is ideal.
3. Request the pickup code
Once the seller has approved the order, request your 5-digit pickup code in your Bestwrist account under "Purchases". Take note of it or keep the app open — you will need it at the meeting.
4. Inspect the watch
On site: take your time. Do the model, reference number, condition and accessories match the listing? Only proceed to the next step once you are fully satisfied.
5. Enter the code and release the funds
Only now: open the pickup dialog in your app and enter the code. Your confirmation releases the payment to the seller — the transaction is complete.
The golden rule
⚠️ NEVER enter the pickup code before the handover — not even if the seller asks you to. Once the code is confirmed the money is on its way and cannot be recalled.
For sellers: step by step
1. Payment received
You will be notified by email when the buyer has paid. The money is held in our escrow system — it will be credited to your account after the buyer confirms the pickup code.
2. Approve the order
Click "Approve order" in your seller dashboard. This tells the buyer that the handover can take place.
3. Arrange the meeting
Agree on the handover time via the Bestwrist chat. Allow enough time for the buyer to inspect the watch.
4. Verify identity
At the meeting, ask for an official photo ID (ID card or passport) and check that the name matches the order in your seller account.
5. Hand over the watch and let the buyer confirm
Hand the watch over and let the buyer inspect it. They will then enter their 5-digit pickup code in their app. We will notify you as soon as the confirmation arrives — your account will be credited.
